Nephew’s Insistence

We’d already been at the zoo most of the day and everyone was tired except for the 6-year-old. We told him he could see one more animal and he chose the panda. Grudgingly we headed over to the exhibit knowing the line would be long and odds were the panda would be asleep which is why the hubby and I often skip it. Right when we got to the front there was an announcement that the pandas would be gone for about 10 minutes to give the keepers time to clean the exhibit and put out fresh food. The nephew couldn’t be swayed to leave. He was going to see a panda. So we waited and waited, and then were rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime experience seeing mom and baby chowing down stalks of bamboo.
